Lantern Week 1 News
Welcome, finally, to Week 1 of 2026! Sorry for the long delay getting the season up and running. Mostly, I was a bit lazy about having it ready in advance during the off-season, and then I ran into a whole bunch of technical issues. The site is obviously quite old now (we're on our 13th year!), and it is in dire need of some upgrades. I made a last-ditch effort to throw an upgrade in place, and it didn't work, so we're sticking with this old version for the short term. I will keep plugging away at the new version, and hopefully it will be up and running soon.
In the meantime, we have one major known issue. Automatic live score updates will probably not work. I'm hoping some magic voodoo I splashed in will fix it, but it's unlikely. We'll probably have to manually enter the scores after the games finish. So expect some delays, possibly overnight. If you spot a finished game isn't updated, and know how to reach me, let me know.
Anyway, have fun picking week 1! There's some crazy games, like the Super Bowl rematch and the Rams and 49ers in Australia. Vegas always makes at least one mega-blunder in week 1, what will it be this year?!
